Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you closing?!?! I thought you weren't closing until 2026!
A multitude of reasons is causing us to close up shop sooner than anticipated:
** Our customer base is aging out/dying and we aren't getting younger riders in to purchase items.
** I had a heart health scare in January. The problem was fixed in March, but most of that month I had to close the shop to heal. Closed doors means no income.
** Truthfully, we never recovered from COVID. Sales dropped dramatically in 2020 and ever since then we haven't seen the same income numbers we had previously. The only reason we were able to stay open was due to two grants, a GoFundMe, and a miracle with the water bill.
** I had recently applied for a grant and was in the stage of acceptance when Trump signed a memorandum taking away all grant funding. The grant was rescinded. That small grant would have helped us stay afloat during the March closure until riding season brought in more customers.
** Miss Laura's death hit me hard. She was a mentor and a friend, and I learned so much from her. My final lesson was that I don't want to be nearly 80, in poor health, and have to still work to make ends meet. I know she loved what she did, and I don't have any disrespect for her choices. I see that I can make different choices and that's what I'm doing.
** It's time for me to do something different. We've been open for thirteen and a half years. We've made an impact on the biker community, we've put quality used gear on riders that protected them, and we've made some wonderful friends. We had a good run.
My last day of business will be June 14th. Come say hello/goodbye before then!
I'll still be riding my Triumph, so I may see some of you on the road!!!

Where do you get your used clothing and accessories?
We get our gear from people just like you who have outgrown or no longer need the gear they have. When you buy the item, they earn money! So can you!

What type of gear do you consign and buy?
We consign gear and accessories related to on and off-road riding. Gloves, jackets, pants, boots, jerseys and more. We can no longer take helmets, parts or heated gear, and we do not buy outright.
How much will I get for my stuff
Once your item sells, you get 40% of the sale price.

Can I trade my old gear for new?
Maybe. We can only trade your item for an item that we own outright, not for something that is consigned. We own about 2% of the inventory, the rest belongs to our consignors.

How long does it take for you to consign my items?
It depends on how much you have. The more you bring, the longer it takes to inspect and evaluate. We ask you not to bring more than about 10 items at a time. You are welcome to bring more to add to your account later.

How do I get paid?
We pay primarily by check around the 15th of every month. We write checks when your account has reached at least $75 or all of your items have sold. You can call at any time to see if any items have sold.
Where do you get your new items?
The small amount of new stuff we have comes primarily from consignors who buy discontinued items then consign with us.

What is the benefit of consigning my gear?
Your items will be looked at by potential customers in a safe environment and you will not have to meet with strangers in order to sell your items. Also, we get far more walk-in customers than your closet.
Do you only sell used motorcycle gear?
Yes, only motorcycle related items.
Are there warranties available on used product?
No.
What hours do you consign items?
Any regular business hours. See the home page for that information. Please note, I am doing appointments because I have limited space at the moment.
What is your return policy?
If you are buying an item as a gift for someone else and you're not sure it will fit, you can return it within 15 days of purchase and with a special receipt that we print out for you. If you are buying the item for yourself, there is no return.
What services do you provide?
Besides used motorcycle gear, creating patches and embroidering hats, I can also sew patches onto vests, replace snaps, grommets, zipper sliders and do some repairs.
Why aren't you open 7 days a week? Why are you closed on Sundays, Mondays AND Tuesdays?
Cruise-In Consignment is mostly a one woman show. I (Heidi) run the business Wednesday through Saturday while hubby Martin holds down a full time job. We don't have employees and I can't be in two places at once, so....
If anyone would like to volunteer to do all of the house chores I have to do on my days off so that I can be open those days, please give me a call. The list includes but is not limited to cleaning house, yard work, laundry, grocery shopping and food prep. (I may be kidding... possibly.) (wink!)
